Chinese Karaoke experience 3

It has been a long weekend of studying for my Accounting exam, preparing for a school presentation on the British Palestine Mandate, and working. But at least I got to have some fun on Friday the 13th when I had my first Chinese Karaoke experience.

For those of you who haven’t experienced this; you go into this karaoke bar with a bunch of friends and get your own private room with a couch, a karaoke machine and a TV. There’s a convenient hospitality button on the remote control to buzz the waiter/waitress when your drinks run dry.

Out of the 8 people in the room, I was the only non-Chinese person, but the hospitable Chinese nature made it comfortable and in no time I was singing Don Maclean, Green Day, Pearl Jam and the Goo Goo Dolls.

It was a more positive experience than a few weeks back when I briefly stopped in the karaoke bar to pick up Han only to find cake all over the floor, smashed glasses, and 5 people throwing up on the floor, into buckets and into the toilet in the bathroom. It wasn’t a positive experience to say the least, so Friday’s karaoke experience made up for that horrific experience.

    POP QUIZ!!!!
Question! Would you rate your ‘exceptional’ vocal talents to the likings of A) the KING of everything that is wrong with today’s society Michael “WacoJacko” Jackson!!!… OR B) the most atrocious, scandolous, and even heinous sounds of…you guessed it..that guy with the ukulele, TINY TIM!
Now the choices may not be the greatest but PLEASE be honest, I have heard you “sing” before… 😉

To answer your question Mr. TomASS, I would liken my vocal talents to that of the prominent Middle Eastern singer “al’Shudda Uppah”. I’ve also been compared to the popular artist “Yibeed ed’ammon” and “Hikila’U”.
