I have recently joined the Big Brothers program here in Toronto. I wanted to urge anyone that this might interest to become a Big Brother or a Big Sister. I just spoke to the coordinator and in Toronto, there are a very large number of little brothers waiting for a match, and there are literally no Big Brothers in the queue. So they are in need of more Big Brothers to join.
They work around your schedule, it’s very flexible and only requires 2 hours a week or 4 hours every other week, depending on your preference. It’s very rewarding for a little brother to have a male influence on his life. Some examples of things you can do are: going to hockey games, playing hockey, movies, amusement parks, mini golfing, go-carting, etc. (Sometimes they give out free tickets to sporting events). I think it’s a great thing to do for the Little Brothers.
