Raising the bar

So today was a pretty horrible day. I didn’t get home from Michigan until 3:30AM this morning and I wasn’t in bed until 4:30AM. I rode my bicycle to work this morning for the first time because I was running a little late. After work I walked outside and found that my bike was gone. It was almost brand new; I purchased it last August for my triathlon and I’ve only used it a few times.

To top off my horrible day, I had a dentist appointment scheduled after work. Enough said.

On a separate note, one good thing did happen today. The company I work for raised the bar and announced that they will be matching every dollar donated to the 260K for Kids for up to $500. That was an amazing thing for them to do, so if you haven’t pledged yet, please click here to pledge some money.

So I have a few days before my bike ride to purchase a new bike. I was originally going to chip in $200, but I might donate $50 and buy a bike for a few hundred dollars instead. I’m pretty disappointed that my bike is gone, I really liked that bike a lot.
