I completed my first triathlon training session today in 30 degree+ temperatures. Although I didn’t do any swimming, I managed to bicycle 55KMs, then I popped my rear tire, so I had to walk my bike the last 3KMs or so. After that I ran 10K. It was one of the hardest runs I’ve ever done with the heat and because of the long bike ride I felt like I was going to die. I was going to finish it all off with a run up 18 flights of stairs, but I’m pretty sure I’d be dead if I did that.

That run sounds painful. How were you times on the bike and the run? Good, bad, ugly??
Brett, It was hard to tell because I took the scenic route on the bike, stopped in a variety store for water, and the blown tire at the end really messed everything up. But for sure the run was substantially slower than my normal 10K.
Ah yes, many of times I’ve stopped in a store for some quick sugar or water while out on the bike. I feel your pain.
